Welcome to my Portfolio

If you are in a rush, I encourage you to take a look at my resume or LinkedIn.

Otherwise, enjoy!

Hi, I’m Jacob Gordon – an aspiring Mechanical Engineer passionate about innovation and problem-solving.

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maine, with a concentration in Aerospace Engineering (graduating May 2025). Through three hands-on internships, I’ve gained expertise in CAD modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), finite element analysis (SolidWorks Simulation, Abaqus), and advanced manufacturing techniques like welding and rapid prototyping.

Some of my most exciting projects include scaling up a glucose to ethylene glycol pilot plant at Technip Energies, where I contributed to system design, process optimization, and safety assessments (FMEA and HAZOP). For my capstone, I designed an energy recovery system for skyscraper wastewater, applying dynamics and FEA to develop a sustainable, real-world solution.

Beyond my technical skills, I’ve honed leadership abilities as a robotics mentor and Assistant Scoutmaster. I’m proud to have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, an achievement that instilled in me the values of teamwork, perseverance, and community service.

Outside of engineering, I enjoy volunteering, hiking, and exploring ways to integrate sustainability into design. Let’s connect and build something incredible together!

This website offers an overview of my work experiences, projects, and related activities that have shaped my journey toward a career in engineering. Feel free to explore and connect with me—I’m always excited to collaborate and share ideas!
